With a vision of financial inclusion for all, Chennai based IFMR Trust (established in October 2006) set up IFMR Rural Finance Services Pvt. Ltd. – a technology-process company that licenses out its KGFS (Kshetriya Gramin Financial Services) brand along with the required technology and processes, to build small non-banking financial institutions providing full range of financial services to remote rural communities. Currently, it has 6 KGFS units operating over 200 branches, serving 300,000 families in 12 Districts of Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Orissa. It has plans to develop about 300 KGFS entities licensees, with a total network of 100,000 branches, serving 300 million customers and possessing cumulative asset base of USD 100 billion and to realize the same Mr. Kapil Gupta has been roped in as CEO, IFMR Rural Finance.

With a B. Tech – Electrical Power from IIT, Madras and M.Tech – Integrated Electronics &s; Circuits from IIT, Delhi in 1989, Kapil has over 25years of experience in Financial Services Industry and. After an initial short stint with Nucleus Software Exports as System Engineer; he worked with Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd., a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation as Head of Product Development, FLEXCUBE SUITE from 1991 to 2011. He was part of leadership team consisting of 3 members for Flexcube 2 & 3. He single handedly achieved first implementation of Micro Banker within 45 days setting gold standard for future implementations. In May 2011 he quit to join a startup, I-Exceed Technology Solutions as Executive Director and steered it towards making it a company worth over USD 5 Millions in less than 3 years.
