Hunt Partners appoints Anand Ganu as the General Manager, India at SAFIM:
About the Company:
Safim S.p.A is a leading Italian manufacturing company specialized in hydraulic and electro-hydraulic complex parts for agricultural, off-highway, material handling vehicles and trailers. In the year 1977, Brothers Mamei set it up with the aim to bring effective and safe braking devices to the construction and agricultural machineries and become a leading player among brake valves manufacturers. The company is located in the beating heart of the Italian mechanic sector – Modena.
In 2014, Safim decided to establish the first representative office in Pune – India, which now is their second manufacturing premise (Assembly Line). India Greenfield project was commissioned and for the first three years until 2017, Safim Brakes India was in a start-up mode. The current business size in India is around INR 10 Crore (Euro 1.5 Mn). The management expects the business to grow up to INR 20 Crore (Euro 3 Mn) in India by year 2021. Their activities in India are 70% Sourcing (Procurement), India being one of the global sourcing hubs for Safim operations and 30% is Local sales.
About the Candidate:
Anand comes with over 15 years of rich experience in manufacturing, supply chain, vendor development and sales of auto components. He has good exposure to Off-highway industry. He was previously employeed with Horiba, asthe Business Unit Head for emission products for North and West regions. He has been able to grow the business from INR 200 Crore in 2017 – 2018 to INR 240 Crore in 2018 – 2019. The target for the year 2019 – 2020 is INR 320 Crore. He was also responsible for vendor development. He has been able to develop 5 new vendors in the last 6 months. Prior to that he was engaged with FEV, where he looked after the engineering, testing and consulting for West & North regions for 2 wheeler, 3 wheeler, 4 wheeler, commercial vehicles, off-road application, off-highway products. At Cummins, he was responsible for the assembly line (manufacturing for Industrial, genset, off-road app, automotive, small engine), vendor development and R&D.
