Praful joined Hunt Partners in May 2009 after a 7-year career in the Indian Army. A graduate of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Praful was commissioned to the Regiment of Artillery in December 2000. In his first assignment he commanded an Artillery Battery and was responsible for providing fire support to an Infantry Brigade during Operation ‘Parakram’.
In 2003, Praful moved to J&K where, as the Operations Officer of his unit he spearheaded counter-terrorist operations involving 450 men spread across 3 districts. In February 2005 Praful was appointed as the Chief Operations Officer of an elite surveillance unit handling the Indian Army’s surveillance grid in the Western Sector.
He was also assigned to a core team set-up to validate an indigenous Battlefield Surveillance System being developed for the Armed Forces. He was instrumental in coordinating the working of this multi-organizational team comprising of scientists and engineers drawn from the public and private sector, and domain specialists from the Army.
Praful holds a Master of Business Administration from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad with a dual specialization in Marketing and Strategy. He also holds a Diploma in Weapon Systems and a PG Certificate in Business Management from MDI, Gurgaon.
